Altho the world has had to evolve with our world crises, Paris fashion week, which is the largest, had to adjust, cancel and redefine the Fashion week schedule and traditions fast. The SS21 season that was semi physical was the season of Spring Summer 2021, I was luckily present to some shows.
Paris Fashion Week is a real business supported by the nation,and the City of Paris. The fashion industry brings hundreds of millions into the city of Paris and is recognised as the highest luxury around the world, it's a tourist attraction for the country. It's a way of life in Paris to be Fashionable, eat beautifully and appreciate art and culture of people It's no wonder Paris is known for heading the Fashion trends every season still.
We last saw Dior and Maria Grazia's beautiful princess dresses on the runway again, highlighting the different fabric textures from her world travels. Always with that DIOR touch, it's beautiful and comforting styles were on target for all this seasons confinements. Humbling colours yet still very Dior in this bright summer Collection from Dior.
The smaller designers did have more eventful showroom schedules, because Fashion doesn't stop. I saw the Dior pieces at their Arc de Triumph showroom with a guided tour by appointment of course.
This Dior collection felt fairylike so light and silky, with designs of horoscopes which is an aesthetic Maris Grazia enjoys. She also designed the matching dinnerware.
Paris Fashion inspires the worlds designers and influencers galore. I love seeing all the fashion friends who attend the shows in their fashions bests, comes second to just the actual shows, I really enjoy the drama of the "Street Style effect" of the paparazzi when outside of a show and all the fashion bloggers arrive on the scene, it's always an extra showtime of the seasons past but current.
Spring/Summer 2021 was full of strong colours. Gone are the pastel pinks from seasons past, the future is brighter and the quality is just as bright. The lengths are longer, the pants are wider and most of all the models are assorted sizes as well.
Kenneth Ize is a new fashion designer from Africa on the Paris Fashion week scene. A "stand out" for his beautiful colour combos that allow to catch your eye and dwarf the neighbours this Spring Season. This beautiful frock and tassels pants for example.
The 2021 season was drastically averted to accommodate the ongoing pandemic, but news are that Paris Fashion week will come back soon for the year end season in physical form. Hopefully everyone attending will respect the new restrictions and the program as well as the world can recover gradually, because life is better without a virus.
