Impressions from London Fashion Week, David Koma RTW Fall 2023

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

David Koma Fall Winter 2023-2024 collection fashion show at London Fashion Week FW23 (February 18, 2023).

David Koma is a Georgian-British fashion designer who is known for his contemporary designs that blend feminine silhouettes with strong, modern aesthetics.

His fall/winter collection for fashion week was inspired by 20th-century glamour, with a twist of dominatrix elements.

In David Koma's Fall/Winter 2023 collection, many of the looks were adorned with hand-cut leather flowers that were dipped in red nail varnish. This was a design choice that Koma made to represent provocative femininity.

By using a traditionally feminine symbol like flowers and giving them a provocative twist with the red nail varnish, Korma was able to create a unique aesthetic that blends feminine delicacy with edgy, daring elements.

The hand-cut leather flowers were a prominent feature throughout the collection, with many of the garments featuring clusters of flowers arranged in intricate patterns. The addition of the red nail varnish gave the flowers a glossy, almost wet look, adding to the overall sense of daring sensuality that permeated the collection.

Overall, the use of hand-cut leather flowers dipped in red nail varnish was a distinctive design choice that helped to reinforce the provocative femininity that was a key theme of David Koma's Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
